Which terminal your cruise line uses
PortMiami publishes which cruise lines use which of its terminals, and the table below is taken only from the port's own site, as it stood on 2026-09-27. Terminal assignments are the port's and the cruise lines' to change, so the terminal printed on your cruise documents is the one that counts.
The port's newest, Terminal AA, is MSC Cruises'; PortMiami describes it as able to handle up to 3 ships and 36,000 passengers in a day. On a busy sailing day, that is the scale of what arrives at the port at once.

The port
Getting onto the port
PortMiami sits on its own island, and the way in for most traffic is the PortMiami Tunnel, which the port describes as a dedicated, toll-free route connecting it to I-395 and the MacArthur Causeway. From either airport, the drive ends by going under the channel rather than across it.
From MIA the port is 9.6 miles or less, by the Dolphin Expressway and I-395. From FLL it is 26.6 miles at most, down I-95.
Timing
Timing a group to the boarding window
Cruise lines give each passenger a check-in or boarding time on the cruise documents, and that time — not the sailing time — is the deadline the transfer works back from. For a group, it is the earliest time on anyone's documents that sets the pickup.
Allow the drive, then a margin: TomTom's 2025 Traffic Index puts Miami's average rush-hour speed at 27.4 km/h, and a sailing-day morning puts every group bound for the port on the same roads. Flying in on the day is a normal booking, and so is arriving the day before; tell us which, and we set the pickup accordingly.
At the end of the cruise, the pickup is timed to the debarkation time your cruise line gives, and the driver waits for the group rather than the clock.
Luggage
A week of luggage for every passenger
Cruise luggage is the reason groups outgrow cars. A family of five with a week's cases fills an SUV to the roof; a party of twelve with the same fills a Sprinter's seats and its luggage space together. A coach's under-floor bays are where a large party's luggage stops being a problem.
Some terminals have their own luggage drop — PortMiami notes a drop-off luggage area at Terminal A — so check your cruise line's instructions for where bags go before boarding.

At the airport
Meeting the cruise party
The driver meets the group outside the arrivals exit — at MIA or FLL — with a sign carrying the group's name. We track every flight in the party; for arrivals spread across a morning, send them all, and we will quote one vehicle waiting for the last flight or two vehicles, whichever works out better.
PortMiami notes that most cruise lines offer their own shuttle from MIA. A private vehicle differs in keeping the group and its luggage together and leaving when the group is ready rather than on a shuttle schedule.
