Where we drive in Mexico
Six cities, and each one behaves differently. Cancún feeds a coastline eighty miles long, so the drive is the variable. Los Cabos splits between two towns half an hour apart. Puerto Vallarta spills north into a second state. Mexico City has two commercial airports on opposite sides of the metro area, and picking the wrong one costs an hour.
That is why there is a page per city rather than one page for the country: the useful detail is local, and a national page that averages it would be true of nowhere.

Arriving at a Mexican airport
The walk out of customs at a busy Mexican airport is lined with desks and people offering transport. Many are timeshare or tour representatives. The offer is usually a free ride, an upgrade or a discount, and it generally comes with a sales presentation attached, sometimes several hours of one on the first morning of a holiday.
The rule that saves the most trouble is simple: leave with the driver you booked, and nobody else. Your driver is outside the arrivals exit, holding a sign with your name on it, and your confirmation says where. Anyone approaching you before that point is not from us, whatever they say or wear.
It is entirely fine to keep walking and say nothing. You do not owe an explanation to someone selling in an airport, and there is no penalty for declining.
Money
Dollars, pesos and tipping
Quotes are issued in US dollars. Drivers take cash in pesos or dollars, and if you pay in dollars expect any change in pesos at the driver's rate, which will not be the rate your banking app shows. Paying the exact amount avoids the question.
Card machines in vehicles are not reliable across the country, so treat cash as the default for anything settled with the driver rather than in advance.
Tipping is not included in the quote and is not expected as a fixed percentage. Travelers commonly leave 10 to 15 percent of the fare for a transfer that went well, more when a driver has handled a lot of luggage or a long wait. It is discretionary, and a driver will not raise it.
Airport exit fees, where an airport charges one, and highway tolls are inside the price we quote. Nothing about the route gets added afterwards.
Pricing
How a fixed per-vehicle quote works
One price covers the vehicle, not the seats in it. Four people and one person in the same van are quoted identically, which is the opposite of how a shared shuttle or a per-seat service prices the same journey.
What moves the number is distance, vehicle size and time of travel. What does not move it is how many of you there are, as long as the group and the luggage fit the vehicle booked.
Send the trip details and we reply with a fixed price for the whole vehicle. Tell us the flight number, the terminal, the full name of the hotel and how many bags you are bringing. Luggage decides the vehicle more often than headcount does, and in Mexico the hotel name matters more than the street address, because gated resorts are found by name at the gate.
Policies
What applies on every Mexican booking
These hold in all six cities, so a transfer in Oaxaca works the way a transfer in Cancún does.
- Your driver waits outside the arrivals exit with a sign showing your name, at the spot named on your confirmation.
- Waiting is free for the first 60 minutes after the aircraft lands, measured from landing rather than from when you reach the hall.
- Inbound flights are tracked, so a late arrival moves the pickup and adds nothing to the price.
- Cancelling is free at any point up to 24 hours ahead of the pickup time; inside that window nothing is refunded.
- Tolls sit inside the quoted price, and a child seat costs nothing if you ask for one at the time of booking.

No. Those desks are usually selling timeshare or tours, and the cheap ride is attached to a presentation that can take most of a morning. Walk past them and meet the driver you booked, outside the arrivals exit.
Yes. Quotes are in US dollars, and drivers accept dollars or pesos in cash. Change from a dollar payment comes back in pesos at the driver's rate, so paying the exact amount is simpler. Do not count on a card machine in the vehicle.
It is discretionary and never added to the quote. Ten to fifteen percent is common for a transfer that went smoothly, and more if there was heavy luggage or a long wait. A driver will not ask.
